I would like to thank all of you who joined us in New York this past June for our annual meeting. We had a very good turnout at this meeting, and judging by the survey results, you felt it was a great meeting as well. Our programming chairs and committee members continue to work hard to bring you the best value for your money. Please share your feedback so we can make sure we continue to provide workshops and sessions that meet your needs and interests.

Now, as risk takers, there is no better venue to turn to than Las Vegas. As you will see in this newsletter and from our website, we have some great sessions in store for you during our upcoming meeting in November. Also, speaking of our newsletter, I hope you enjoy this new look and the more efficient way of receiving the newsletter. I would like to thank Jim Hiers and Kim Miller for working hard with our web team to provide you with this electronic version of the Risk Review. I think you will like the new look and also the new way of receiving it.

We are working on some very exciting things for GUAA including a joint meeting next May with our friends at the Society of Actuaries. You will be hearing much more about this as we get closer to the May meeting.

I would also like to let you know of our new Board members. Ann Marie Wood has joined the Board of Directors and will be serving as the Secretary. In addition, Curt Zepeda has taken on the role of Assistant Treasurer. Please join me in welcoming Ann Marie and Curt to the Board.

Finally, I would like to say a BIG thank-you to Teresa Robison. Teresa has worked very hard over the past two years serving as the President of GUAA. Her service to our organization over the last several years is greatly appreciated. As an all-volunteer organization, I’m sure you can appreciate the hard work that goes into planning our meetings. Teresa has done a great job of leading this organization over the past two years. THANKS TERESA!

I look forward to seeing you in Las Vegas.
