Spring 2002
BACK TO THE NATION'S CAPITAL
By Mark Walker
Minnesota MutualThanks to all of you who attended our November meeting in Charleston, South Carolina. We think it was another outstanding meeting, and so did you based on the feedback we received. Our committees continue to bring you exciting workshops with insightful speakers. They work extremely hard to do this and without the committees, our program would not be where it is today.
In June, we are heading back to the nations capital. Mark your calendars for June 23- 26, 2002 at the Grand Hyatt at Washington Center in Washington D.C.
Our meeting will kick off on Sunday night, June 23rd, with a welcome reception. Our keynote speaker, Bob Woodward of the Washington Post, will highlight our Monday morning. I' m sure most of you know of Bob Woodward. He is currently an assistant managing editor of the Washington Post where he has worked since 1971. He has won nearly every American journalism prize. The Pulitzer Prize was given to the Washington Post in 1973 for the reporting of Woodward and Carl Bernstein on the Watergate scandal. Woodward is the only contemporary American writer to author or co-author eight #1 national best-selling non-fiction books, including All the Presidents Men (1974) and The Final Days (1976), both Watergate books co-authored with Bernstein.
Woodward's latest book, Maestro: Greenspan's Fed and the American Boom, about the Federal Reserve and its enigmatic chairman, Alan Greenspan, has been a national bestseller since its release in November of 2000. The New York Times has called him the most famous investigative reporter in America. You won't want to miss this.
In addition to our exciting keynote speaker, our committees have put together another great agenda of workshops including:
HIPAA/Privacy
Medical carve-outs/slice sales
A journey through a large medical proposal
Everything you always wanted to know about Group AD&D insurance, but were afraid to ask.

Don't forget the Let's Talk Shop sessions, as they are always a hit. I hope to see you all in D.C.
