GUAA Risk Review, Fall 2002

Marketing Review

You don't want to miss GUAA's Denver meeting! Besides GUAA's excellent networking opportunities and usual staple of terrific workshops and speakers, the Denver meeting will be held in the beautiful Rocky Mountains at The Brown Palace Hotel, one of the nation's premier hotels located in the heart of Denver's central business district. GUAA has established a fine tradition of holding meetings at premier hotels in many of the finest cities in the US, and The Brown Palace is certainly no exception. As a matter fact, The Brown Palace was President Bush's hotel of choice during his recent visit to Denver. If it's good enough for the President, we figure it must be good enough for GUAA.

Denver is a truly beautiful city offering much to do. The Denver airport is considered to be the finest in the US.

The GUAA Life, Disability, Medical and Dental Committees have once again lined up a tremendous selection of informative and entertaining workshops, including breakout sessions on Group Life and AD&D Fraud, Group Life trends from the perspective of two actuaries, large group sales, a broker panel discussion on small group underwriting, and an update on Dental Provider Networks. This is just a sampling of the many workshops that will be offered. In addition, each committee will also offer GUAA's ever-popular "Let's Talk Shop" sessions. In reviewing the survey forms we received from our June meeting in DC, the excellent networking opportunities continue to be GUAA's strongest asset. Each GUAA meeting provides its delegates with multiple opportunities to mingle with your peers in the Underwriting industry. If Dr. Seuss were writing about GUAA's meetings, he would probably write something like this: People from big companies are there. So are people from medium companies. There are even people there from small companies! They are all there! You'll see them in the park. You may see some in the dark. You'll see them everywhere. Some with time to spare, others without despair. Maybe you should be there! In your sneakers, listening to the speakers.

Wait! That could be Mr. Rogers too! Either way, you should be there!
