Fall 2001
Please Join Us Down South
By Mark Walker
Minnesota MutualWe had another successful meeting "north of the border" in Montreal. Now, it's time to go south. GUAA is off to beautiful Charleston, South Carolina for our November meeting. Please make sure your calendars are marked for November 11Ñ14, 2001 to join us at the Charleston Place Hotel.
As usual, our meetings will begin on Sunday evening, November 11, with registration and a reception. Whether you are a first-time attendee or a seasoned veteran of GUAA, I know you will enjoy this time to network with new acquaintances or old friends.
On Monday morning, our conference kicks off with our keynote speaker, Dr. Oren Harari. Dr. Harari is an energetic and charismatic presenter who excites and challenges audiences around the world with his insight, humor, and knowledge. As a senior consultant with the Tom Peters Group from 1984-1996, Dr. Harari was one of its most requested speakers. His presentations bring provocative new perspectives on competitive advantage, organizational change, and transformational leadership. As a leading management consultant and best-selling author, he brings 20 years of seasoned professional experience to the public speaking forum. In May of 1999, Harari released a fully-revised second edition "Leapfrogging the Competition: Five Giant Steps To Becoming A Market Leader." This book has received accolades from Colin Powell, Tom Peters, Michael Dell, and Bill Marriott, to name a few. He is also the co-author of two other books titled: "Jumping the Curve: Innovation and Strategic Choice in an Age of Transition" and "Beep Beep! Competing in the Age of the Road Runner." He is considered one of the best business speakers in the industry.
In addition, our committees have been busy putting together another outstanding lineup of workshops for you to choose from including:
